Outfitting the Modern Office

An abundance of natural light floods the interior of this newly fitted out office space located in the heart of Sydney. Thoughtful in design, addressing the nuances of different work settings, the office includes a mixture of open and private workspaces, meeting rooms, lounge areas and a breakroom, all designed to offer employees various spots to work. 

Greeted by our Jive reception counter, the grandeur nature of the piece exudes a contemporary look through its thick 58mm panel construction and minimalist profile. A comfortable and welcoming space is further created with our Hugo lounges paired with the Nest coffee table, indulging clients and visitors in the ultimate front of house experience. 

Moving through the space, Hugo lounges and Nest coffee tables are spotted again in the communal area, facilitating a relaxing transition into breaks or informal meetings. Perfect as a side table or coffee table, Nest features a lightweight wood construction, and as the name suggests, designed to be nested if needed or used for individual work. 

Minimalist and organic in feel, the open plan workspace features rows of Benchwork workstations, complemented with Local acoustic screens, Biscuit dividers, Hana task chairs and Globe pedestals. Adjacent to the workstations are small offices for private and individualised work featuring the same furniture. The open plan interior is light and bright with monochromatic hues, while the small offices display a red feature wall, a characteristic carried throughout the office in other meeting rooms for a cohesive feel.

Fresh and playful colours are used throughout the kitchen and breakout space. Using Poppi chairs in Moss Grey and Cosmopolitan tables in natural oak finishes, the space blends a wide range of furniture pieces to create an eclectic, diverse aesthetic for staff to relax. 

Meeting rooms are displayed throughout the large office space, all featuring a distinct red wall to add personality and create a point of difference between the areas. The formal meeting room features a Keywork table and Sax chairs with black detailing, creating a strong contrast and look. 

Smaller rooms for informal meetings feature our Alex chairs and Halo table with a custom D-end shape top to suit the layout of the room. The last of the meeting rooms include our FortyFour chair paired with the Cosmopolitan table to facilitate a productive and focused environment. 

Designed by True Project and Strutt Studios, this office offers various spaces for the modern employee to work based on what best suits their needs, whether it be meeting a colleague in an informal setting or finding a quiet place to work solo. Along with using black, white and greys, hints of colours are used throughout for visual impact creating a comfortable and contemporary workplace.

Improving Patients' Waiting Time through Furniture at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse

June 10, 2020

We were recently involved in the refurbishment of Chris O’Brien Lifehouse waiting rooms in Sydney. The project called “Waiting for Change” aimed at improving how cancer patients wait. From waiting for their diagnosis, to waiting for tests, treatment, results and many other reasons, patients spend a lot of time waiting.

The project involved supplying patients with comfortable and practical spaces, giving the waiting rooms a more homely feel by adding some greenery and separating the seating arrangement to give patients their own space to rest or work in, as well as updating the furniture.

We are very pleased that we could be a small part of this worthwhile project and could help make patient’s waiting experience a little more comfortable.

The Krost Experience - Elcom

Calling Redfern their home for over 15 years, Elcom’s headquarters were no longer able to adapt to the dynamic industry they operate in nor keep up with their own rapidly expanding business requirements.

When they decided to move to Sydney CBD, they turned to Krost to help provide innovative furniture solutions that would foster creativity and collaboration.

Moving away from their antiquated cubicle settings, we worked hand in hand with Josh and John, the directors of the company, to design a flexible environment that welcomes employees and clients alike and promotes team work and communication.

Light Filled Offices for NSW Business Chamber

November 13, 2019

Filled with an abundance of natural light, NSW Business Chamber’s new Wollongong office offers its employees a breezy and comfortable space to thrive in.

Designed by Powerhouse Group, a blend of white, black and natural finishes was chosen to furnish the various formal and informal workspaces.

The generous open plan office features our Benchwork workstations combined with the Flow chair, Globe mobile pedestals, Trak screens and Logic monitor arms. The natural wooden finish of the worktops, biscuit dividers and planters topping the Globe sliding door cupboards ties in perfectly with the adjacent kitchen.

The boardroom and executive offices were fitted with our Oslo range of desks and tables paired with the leather Miro S and Alex chairs creating a timeless and sophisticated look.

A bright and modern kitchen is revealed through a wooden screen and offers multiple functional settings to eat or meet at. Our Keywork counter tables are beautifully paired with Zorro stools and offer an alternative to the more traditional configurations of Halo tables and Inc chairs.

To complete this fit-out, our custom joinery services were used throughout the space, from the kitchen to the office storage and water station.

An inspired design and selection of products have combined to produce an aesthetically inspiring and functional office landscape.

McGrath's Inspiring New Office

Blending contemporary finishes with classic architecture, McGrath Realty’s new Miller’s Point Office oozes with modern appeal.

Designed by Pinnacle Plus, a sophisticated natural palette and luxe finishes is extended throughout creating a striking visual with elements of heritage style moulding, exposed brick, wood grain, greenery and brass.

Our Keywork workstations paired with Miro S chairs, Trak screens and planters create a functional zone for office staff to work and collaborate. The clever selection of white legs and grey fabric screens perfectly complementing the surrounding aesthetic.

McGrath’s new space is a timeless oasis that will concrete the foundations for the company’s success for years to come.

Harcourts Reveals Its Impressive New Interior

June 18, 2019

Harcourts new Campbelltown office embraces class and modernity with it’s sprawling open layout, chic finishes and fixtures.

A stunning 4.5 meter wide custom made reception counter welcomes guests with a marble look finish and LED lights, while Maya lounges, Drum coffee tables and Madi chairs provide a plush waiting space.

The luxe aesthetic extends further into the main office with double sided runs of black Keywork workstations with beautiful Maison Oak finish worktops. Each user is presented with Miro chairs, Globe caddies, Logic monitor arms and Vast screens and shelves.

Communal storage is catered to via Globe sliding door units and Universal lockers that seamlessly blend into their surroundings while the Globe planter units inject greenery and a relaxed vibe.

The walls acts as canvases for inspirational quotes with messages that stay true to the brands vision. They provide an interesting focal point while reminding staff and clients of their values.

Zorro chairs and Dart tables adorn the meeting room in a dark hue that perfectly compliments the chic-industrial styling. Surrounded by concrete floors, light-filled windows and a wooden ceiling, the space is functional and impressive.

From vision to execution, Harcourts new Campbelltown office is equipped for many years of success.

On Point with Ovato’s New Office

Featuring a clean, minimalistic workspace with playful details sprinkled throughout, Ovato’s new office is a hub for collaborative and critical thinking. Surrounded by floor to ceiling windows, the space offers a monochromatic palette that contrasts with the light filled interior.

Soft natural brown hues greet clients as they enter the office, with our Jive reception counter forming a stylish nook for reception.

Moving through the open plan office, rows of Keywork workstations fitted with Local screens, Sonic task chairs and Universal tambour storage units create a workspace which enhances productivity, dynamism and employee wellbeing. The desks feature a white frame and top used in conjunction with black task chairs and accessories, fitting in perfectly with the colour scheme of the office.

Ovato’s office exemplifies a modern work environment with multiple meeting rooms surrounding the open plan office. Each meeting room has a creative name with a corresponding quote on the wall. Featuring our Dart meeting table and Alex chairs, each space is a private sanctuary for employees to perform more focused tasks.

Ovato’s boardroom is a more formal space but carries the theme from the reception and the office surrounds., Featuring our Velo boardroom table in a soft wood finish. Paired with Sax leather chairs in black, a stylish composition of light and dark is established.

Minimalist in design yet practical and functional, Ovato’s new office addresses the nuances of the modern work environment while playing homage to their employees needs.

Inspiring Offices for InsurX

April 17, 2019

Surrounded by light filled windows, InsurX’s new office maintains the openness of the interior space with high ceilings and exposed timber panelling. With feature walls displaying motivational quotes throughout for visual impact, Designate Interiors designed an office that harmonizes the internal details and furniture effectively.

Exuding natural hues of brown and grey, our Cooper chairs and Dart coffee tables welcome visitors as they enter the office. The use of woods creates an inviting feeling of coziness and warmth.

Extending the visual focus beyond the entrance, meeting rooms can be seen through the tall glass windows. Using Velo tables and Universal storage in a light timber finish with black legs, surrounded by our Zed Chairs, a formal yet soft atmosphere was crafted. This aesthetic is continued in the boardroom and other meeting rooms, complimented by the same furniture setting.

Utlising the generous office space, the area was filled with runs of our Keywork workstations, perfectly paired with Trak screens, planters, Space chairs and black Globe pedestals.

Creatively hidden by curved floating walls, our Halo table in a custom semi-circle shape and Space chairs form a collaborative area for employees. Green plant walls integrated with whiteboards cultivate a natural element with additional texture.

Considering the nuances of the modern workplace, breakout areas have been created for the team to relax. Designate Interiors turned a nook into a haven for our Jive counter table and Zorro stools which form a continuous bench situated in front of another green planted wall. Opposite this sits out Benj high lounges and Dart organic coffee table for more private spaces.

Moving into the kitchen and lunch area, our Sofi lounges and Dart organic tables form pods of soft seating. Upholstered in contrasting blue tones, a more playful atmosphere has been created.

Insurx’s new space considers the different working environments for the modern employee. Providing various settings that focus on connection, collaboration and comfort by the curation of furniture, finishes and aesthetic.

Elula's New HQ

Utilising the building’s original industrial materiality, Elula’s new headquarters has an aesthetic which exudes chicness and luxury. The interior features classic design elements combined with modern furnishings that create an eclectic, monochromatic design that’s dotted with warm woods and light brick walls.

The open plan space is a haven for our Benchwork workstations fitted with Sonic task chairs, Globe slimline pedestals and Local Screens. The desks feature a black frame and white top, used in conjunction with matching accessories, fitting in perfectly with the interior. The design of this area results in a cutting edge workspace curated to enhance productivity and employee well-being.

Moving into the boardroom, a warm contrast is made with natural wooden tones used on our Dart boardroom table. Our Zorro chairs in chocolate are paired with the Dart to finish the setting. Glass windows divide the meeting room and the open area as the connective floor plan fosters new ways of thinking by establishing different environments for various purposes.

Combining the design of the entire office with furniture to compliment the space and its size, Elula’s office has everything you need for the modern employee.

Fresh Fit Out For Fastway

March 14, 2019

From the large open spaces to intimate executive offices, meeting rooms and breakout areas, Fastways new office exudes style and sophistication through a strong monochromatic palette. The strong contrast between fresh white interiors and black furniture seamlessly transitions from one room to the next for a consistent look and feel.

Welcoming visitors, our Jive reception counter is a grand feature in front of the slatted timber wall. Complimenting the space are Tex lounges and Drum coffee tables, creating a simple yet inviting entrance.

Mix bench seating and Cooper chairs pair with a Jive coffee table to divide the open plan areas forming a contemporary statement in each gathering space. Enhanced by the large natural light filled windows, hues of brown and grey add warmth and break the monochrome dynamic.

Our Benchwork workstations are used on the lower and upper level with Sonic task chairs, Globe pedestals, Screenwork screens and Logic monitor arms to cultivate working areas suitable to a vast range of needs. Breaking up the area is our Keywork table and Balance ottomans allowing different levels of function and collaboration.

Continuing on with the contrasting palette, the executive offices feature Keywork desks with Miro and Zorro chairs. Working symbiotically with the architectural details of the interiors, each office offers a warm and textured backdrop to the main open space.

Our Alex chairs and Dart tables were used in meeting rooms to establish more formal areas whilst maintaining a balance of simplicity and modernism through the dark oak finishes combined with natural light.

Finally moving into the lunch area, a fresh clean palette in contrast with the rest of the office has been established. Our Jive counter table and Zorro stools paired with the Halo counter table and Pac stools create a breakout area which emanates a calm and peaceful space for employees to take a break.

Different zones were created to establish a variety of functional workspaces including open plan work areas, meeting rooms, breakout rooms and informal meeting spaces. Fastways new office caters to every need of the modern employee.

Kogarah Library’s New Space Revealed

February 5, 2019

Crafting the perfect entry or waiting area is important as it is an opportunity to make a lasting first impression for visitors. Recently, Georges River Council undertook a project for Kogarah Library, where each space was fitted out in an eclectic and diverse style.

Upon entry to Kogarah library, you are greeted by a large, light filled open space before moving into the main area. In one section, our Zorro chairs upholstered in two shades of blue fabric are paired with the Halo table, creating simple yet effective working areas.

Continuing on with the contrasting blue theme, our Cali chairs group together to form pods of soft seating for a more relaxed or informal meeting area. Georges River Council created a workspace with an open-ended environment by adding our Keywork Counter Table with Zorro Stools for individual or focused work. Each section can be modified or rearranged for visitors to create their own space based on their needs or requirements.

Thoughtful in design, Kogarah Library addresses the nuances of different seating arrangements based on their location. Situated across from the service desks are our Sofi ottomans in a mixture of curved and square shapes to form a continuous line of seating. Upholstered in the same blues as the Zorro and Cali chairs paired with our Byte Side Table, a bold and energetic pattern is created in contrast with the green carpeting.

Special consideration for visitors and their range of needs within the library is evident in the variety of settings provided. By allowing freedom and flexibility within the space, one is able to utilise it to its best ability whilst maintaining a level of comfortability.

Riverwood Library’s Colourful Space Revealed

October 30, 2018

Using an eclectic palette of colours and range of materials, Riverwood Library’s new space features layers of visual interest at every turn.

Throughout the libraries open layout, parts of the original structure are interjected with new furniture, lighting and mosaic glass panelling creating a fun, contemporary environment.

Cascading along the natural light filled windows, our Gogo and Sofi Ottomans paired with Halo Coffee Tables welcome you as you enter the library.

Using our Cooper, Cali and Clip S chairs, a theme of red and blue is incorporated into every room, transitioning from one space to the next effortlessly.

In the middle of the library, our Keywork Spine desk and Space chairs are used for visitors seeking help and looking for more information. Using a combination of Natural Oak and White finishes, a bold contrast is made with the geometric carpet design.

Our Keywork Tables paired with red Clip S chairs create an energetic burst of collaborative and training areas. Moving upstairs, the Clip S’ are combined with Flip tables for more intimate meeting rooms. The colour scheme is continued with the Keywork workstations and Trak Screen system, for a cohesive look and feel.

Designed by CK Design, Riverwood Library features eye-catching details and bold colours throughout for visual impact. Bringing in new and innovative ideas to the traditional space a modern aesthetic was achieved.
