The Next Generation of Design: ADR 30UNDER30’s Dinners

April 21, 2026

At Krost, we believe the future of the Australian design landscape isn’t just about the spaces we build, but the people who imagine them. As a major sponsor of Australian Design Review’s 30UNDER30 program, we recently joined the Sydney and Melbourne cohorts for two intimate dinners that set the beginning of a long-term dialogue.

These evenings were more than just a formal introduction, they were a chance to witness the "next generation of design" breaking the ice and forming the connections that will shape our industry for decades to come.

Sydney: Art Deco Inspiration at Clocktower Bar

The Sydney contingent met at the Clocktower Bar within the iconic Shell House. Set against an art-deco-inspired interior, the evening hummed with the vibrancy of the city’s design community. Here, the finalists were joined by industry stalwarts, creating a bridge between established experience and new-era creativity.

Melbourne: A Warm Welcome at Cutler & Co.

In Melbourne, the cohort gathered within the private, heritage-inflected dining room of Cutler & Co.. The atmosphere was one of quiet sophistication, providing a focused backdrop that allowed the room to settle into meaningful conversation to break the ice before our upcoming creativity retreat in Bali. Witnessing such incredible passion and creativity in one room makes us even prouder to be a partner of a program that empowers the next generation of design talent to thrive and innovate.

Supporting the Next Generation

Our sponsorship for 30UNDER30 reflects Krost’s ongoing commitment to local talent and design excellence. We understand that the modern workplace is evolving, and it is these "creators and thinkers" who will design the adaptive environments of the future.

As we look toward the 2026 collection and beyond, we remain dedicated to providing the furniture solutions that support these emerging professionals in their journey to redefine the built world.

Embracing Human-Centric Design: A Path to Enhanced Usability and Experience

March 26, 2024

Human-centric design is an approach to problem-solving that places the people we're designing for at the heart of the process.

At Krost, we prioritise user needs and behaviours when designing new products. This focus on the user creates spaces that enhance comfort, productivity, and emotional well-being.

We design furniture with adaptable layouts and features that accommodate various abilities and lifestyles. This ensures accessibility and inclusivity for all occupants.

From flexible workstations that seamlessly transform into meeting tables to ergonomic seating options that accommodate diverse activities, we provide value-driven solutions tailored to our clients' evolving needs.

Our goal is to keep users' wants, pain points, and preferences at the forefront of every phase of the process.

Human-centric design isn't just a feel-good philosophy, it's an effective business strategy. By creating spaces that empower people, businesses can foster a more productive and engaged workforce.

Ultimately, human-centric design is about more than just creating spaces; it's about empowering individuals. Recognising that when people feel valued and supported, they thrive.

Explore how we showcase human-centric design below and view our product range here.

Krost's Sydney Office Update With 3D Tour: A Blueprint For Workplace Design

December 20, 2023

Our latest Sydney office renovation was more than just an aesthetic upgrade, it's a reflection of modern work culture —flexible, intuitive, and inherently human-centric. To achieve this, we set our goal to design a space that caters to diverse work styles, settings and needs.

Throughout the space, strategically placed meeting and breakout rooms foster collaboration and spontaneous interactions. Our Remi counter table serves as a hub for impromptu catch-ups, while the curve of our Sofi ottomans create a welcoming space for informal chats.

Each room is named and can be easily booked in our calendar system:

The Loft - A feature collaborative space in our Mascot office, carefully designed to offer a dynamic environment tailored for both brief stand-up huddles and teamwork-driven sessions.

The Arena - Embodies our commitment to being at the forefront of furniture design and innovation by integrating modern tech into specially designed, functional furniture.

The Hub - A quiet space that offers a refreshing change from the workstation zone, providing a focused work environment for teams looking for a change.

The Home Suite - A perfect blend of comfort and function, where private chats and casual catch-ups combine seamlessly with productivity, away from the buzz of the office.

The Booth - Intentionally designed to nurture a collaborative and undistracted environment, perfect for brief touchpoints or extensive brainstorming sessions.

The Nook - For hyper-focused task immersion, tailored for small offices, it cleverly maximises efficiency without compromising on style.

Highlighted in the centre of the office is our new Clic workstation, featuring a sleek black rounded profile and a Coastal Oak Woodmatt worktop from Polytec. To enhance privacy and infuse greenery into the workspace, we've incorporated custom joinery planter boxes that elegantly divide the workstations, as well as our Cubby planters at the foot of the desks.

Our open workstation area is equipped with Archi chairs, meticulously crafted for supreme ergonomic comfort and flexibility. Complementing this setup is a dynamic hot desking spine, flanked by planter box lockers. This not only introduces a touch of greenery but also provides personalised storage for our staff.

Experience our complete office transformation from beginning to end here and explore our Sydney showroom today through the immersive 3D tour below.

The Booth is intentionally designed to nurture a collaborative and focused environment, perfect for brief touchpoints or extensive brainstorming sessions.

Serene green hues, reminiscent of nature, instil a sense of calm and peace in The Booth, crucial for creating an oasis for secluded collaboration.
