What is AFRDI Green? 

AFRDI Green (Australasian Furnishing Research and Development Institute) evaluates products on a comprehensive range of sustainability criteria, including environmental impact, resource efficiency, and recyclability. This requires rigorous testing and evaluation processes, involving assessments of the materials used, emissions, and manufacturing processes. 

Successfully meeting the requirements of AFRDI 150:2012 Sustainability Standard - Commercial Furniture and achieving AFRDI Green certification is a testament to our dedication to producing environmentally responsible products. It also ensures that our products are compliant with the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and Formaldehyde Minimisation credits in Green Star rating tools.

What is AFRDI Blue? 

AFRDI Blue certification focuses on product durability. The process requires extensive testing for general safety, strength, durability, and stability, ensuring that our furniture meets stringent performance criteria and highest standards of functionality and longevity, offering our customers with products they can trust for years to come.

Krost Seating Receives An AFRDI Green Tick

We’re thrilled to share that we have been awarded AFRDI Green tick certifications for a number of our seating products including:

The AFRDI Green Tick is a sustainability certification program developed by Furntech-AFRDI that focuses on embracing sustainable practices within the furniture manufacturing industry. Such practices involve waste minimisation and efficient use of raw materials to extend a product’s working life.

To achieve this certification, our Space, Future, Sonic, Hana, Alex, Kobi, Koko chairs were put through rigorous commercial testing, subsequently meeting all of the requirements of the AFRDI Standard 150:2012 Sustainability Standard - Commercial Furniture.

These chairs join the Benchwork, Keywork, Swish, Miro, and Noma, as our other already certified AFRDI Green products.

Obtaining these various certifications for our product range is part of an ongoing process to develop commercial furniture fit for all applications while minimising our impact on the environment.

A NSW Government approved supplier for furniture and bushfire affected communities (SCM0771 & SCM8271)

We’re an approved supplier on the following government contracts:

• SCM0771 - NSW Government and Department of Education under the Office Furniture Scheme. We are an advanced supplier on this scheme and can deliver and install office furniture across all areas of NSW, rural and metro up to any value. 

• SCM8371 - Under the Bushfire-affected Communities Rebuild Portal scheme we can provide goods and/or services to the most hard hit areas in the bushfire crisis of early 2020.

In order to achieve the Level 6 certificate of the AFRDI Standard 4438:1997 - Height Adjustable Swivel Chairs, these products have been put forward for rigorous commercial testing and have successfully met all of the requirements of strength, durability, stability, function, flammability, reasonable finish and workmanship.
