Case Study: East Sydney Private Hospital

When the directors of the soon to be opened East Sydney Private Hospital were faced with the task of furnishing their brand new Woolloomooloo premises they approached us to provide a solution.

Their objective was to find furniture that is adaptable, durable and aesthetically pleasing whilst also readily available for an easy and speedy installation.

Our Spyder chairs are the main attraction, being used right throughout the wards, waiting areas and patient rooms. Duo chairs, Tex lounges and Ice coffee tables were used in reception areas to create a comfy waiting space. Miro chairs were used behind all specialist and administration desks whilst Industrial Operators chairs were placed in the surgery rooms.

The colour palette perfectly complimented the hospital’s branding with all the upholstery chosen throughout being done in grey and burgundy tones in a fabric suitable for a healthcare environment.

Making a Bold Statement

This trendy new office overlooking St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney has been transformed into a perfectly contemporary and sophisticated workspace using a simple yet effective colour palette.

Designed by The Bold Collective, the clever selection of predominantly black and white colours made a distinct impact on the space. The furniture included our Benchwork workstations, black Globe pedestals and our brand new Miro task chair.

Black Dart legs featured in other areas including the boardrooms and offices. The unique design of the leg perfectly complimented the style of the office with its glass partitions, black trims and beautiful light pine flooring throughout the reception.

Other products included Melamine Lockers, Universal Storage, Tambour Door units, Sonic chairs andBop ottomans, all carefully collaborating to create a bold and unique look.

6 Signs That it’s Time to Invest in New Office Furniture

1. Spike in Health Issues - You’ve started to receive more and more complaints from office staff about back and neck aches and pains.  This often points to your chairs not offering a sufficient level of support. With OH&S regulations increasing, ergonomic chairs are essential, your task chairs should be equipped with intelligent mechanisms that can be adjusted to provide a tailored posture and lumbar support. Older chairs just can’t compare to modern chairs that are scientifically developed to suit the type of work in the tech-savvy 21st century workplace.

2. Your Furniture is Tatty, Dated or Malfunctioning –  If you’ve got anything from a peeling leather lounge, bulky executive chair, broken filing cabinet or chairs that were on trend back in the 80’s then it’s time for an update. Keeping your office fully functional and contemporary is essential for a successful business.  Employees will become frustrated with tired and tatty furniture.

3. Your Furniture Doesn’t Suit Your Brand– Your furniture speaks a lot about your company, if it’s old and outdated it leaves the door open for negative assumptions to be formed about the quality of your products and services. Another Sydney Office Transformed

This new Sydney CBD office can definitely be commended on both design and functionality. With a combination of sophisticated furnishings and a well thought out floor plan, it’s an office anyone would love to work in.

Designed by Designate Projects, the office features a collaboration of some of our favourite products extending right throughout working areas, meeting rooms and breakout spaces.

Our Benchwork workstations were used with a combination of Trak accessories including storage boxes, planters and screens. The lime and charcoal screen colours providing a brilliant contrast against the white workstations.

Our new Miro S chairs were used at all workstations. Miro’s slim profile and polished aluminium detailing on the arms, back and base added a sense of luxury and exclusivity to the space.

White Sax chairs looked outstanding around the meeting and conference tables, whilst our Hush lounges created a place for informal meetings and quiet work.

Overall, the combination of furnishings and finishes transformed the space into an ultra-modern  and inviting office.

6 Ways to Be Happy at Work

Given that most of us spend upwards of 40 hours a week at work, it’s worth doing whatever you can to stay happy whilst you’re there. Finding work you like, co-workers you enjoy being around and a company with good values are the basic foundations for happiness at work but here are some other things you can focus on to boost your happiness at work.

1. Get up Early – A rushed start to the work day can leave you feeling blue all day. Try and wake up at least an hour before you need to leave to avoid the stressful morning rush. Laying clothes out and prepping food the evening before also helps.

2. Get More Fresh Air – Studies have shown that spending just 20 minutes outside on a nice day can improve your mood, make you feel more relaxed and more productive.  So rather than being cooped up in the office all day long, eat your lunch outside on sunny days.

3. Avoid Negativity – Don’t get caught up in office gossip and negative conversations with unhappy people as negative people have the ability to influence your emotions and bring you down.

4. Set Yourself Goals – Many people feel dissatisfied when they aren’t being challenged. Set yourself short and long term objectives to learn new things, a sense of achievement will boost your happiness.

5. Get a Good Nights Sleep – This ones no secret, we’ve all been tired at work and lets face it, it’s hard to be happy when you cant stop yawning. We know sometimes it can be difficult but ideally you need 8 hours sleep to give yourself the energy to be positive and happy.

6. Smile More – Scientists have proven that smiling and laughing encourages the brain to release dopamine. Dopamine is a natural chemical that amongst other things makes you feel happy and positive.
